Sorry for the late response. We have been working on fixing the issues in the updated tutorial: https://github.com/hongweilibran/BraSyn_tutorial.
Regarding your questions:
1. You are not expected to submit results for the validation dataset. We are now working on a segmentation leaderboard where you submit only the segmentation masks so you have an idea of how the segmentation performance is based on the synthesis results.
2. Test sets will not be released. You will submit a Docker container for testing.

I’m new to the BraSyn challenge and would really appreciate some clarification on Task 08.
I’ve started working with the training and validation datasets. I understand that the validation set has one missing modality per subject, and we can use it to evaluate our model’s performance.
Just to confirm:
1. Are we expected to submit any results for the validation dataset, or is it just for internal use?
2. Will the final test dataset (with glioma, metastasis, and meningioma cases) be released later for the actual submission?
3. I would also appreciate any beginner guidance on the expected submission format or folder structure.

Thank you for the reminder. I have migrated the fixed version of the BraTS-MET-00232 case folder and it is now available [here](syn61929632). Dear @Kevin0423,
The training dataset is fixed to be BraTS-GLI + BraTS-METS as one of the objectives is to benchmark the generalizability of your synthesis algorithm.

While performing Task 08 using the 2023 metastasis dataset, I encountered a recurring issue with the file BraTS-MET-00232-000-t2w.nii.gz. Despite multiple downloads, the file appears corrupted and cannot be loaded. Please advise on how to resolve this. Thank you. @benedictneo

Yes, BraTS has been a part of MICCAI for a few years, and this year it is a MICCAI Lighthouse Challenge.
