For the training batch： “BraTS26_PED_training”, is it the same dataset from last year's PED task?

Hi @chenyo, Thank you for reaching out. The BraTS26 training set (batch1) should align with the TCIA dataset, with both including 257 cases. The old BraTS25 training set had 4 additional cases (some were removed after quality control). Case IDs should remain consistent across datasets, so the difference should be limited to 4 training cases. It shouldn’t have a major impact on the reproducible model results. We can double-check and will let you know if we find any additional issues.
Hi @astaraki, Thank you for the explanation. I would like to clarify my question from a reproduction perspective. I am trying to reproduce some model branches from the BraTS-PED 2025 challenge, so I would like to validate them using the 2025 PED training data. Currently, I am using the data from BraTS26PEDtraining.zip, but the reproduced results are quite different from the reported 2025 results. Therefore, I wanted to confirm whether BraTS26PEDtraining.zip can be treated as the same training data release used for BraTS-PED 2025, or whether the 2025 PED training data should instead be downloaded from the TCIA BraTS-PEDs collection here: https://www.cancerimagingarchive.net/collection/brats-peds/ Thank you! While the subject IDs might be identical, please note that the standard BraTS naming convention encodes the treatment order as follow: ``` BraTS: Name of the challenge PED: Pediatric 00001: Subject ID 000: Scan timepoint and treatment status and timepoint as follows: 000: Pre-operative, first baseline scan 001: Pre-operative, second baseline scan 100: First post-operative/post-treatment scan 101: Second post-operative/post-treatment scan ``` Best regards, /Mehdi
Hi @astaraki, Thank you for the clarification. I understand that the full BraTS 2026 PED training dataset contains more subjects than the PED2025 dataset. I just wanted to clarify one specific point about the two training batches: For BraTS26_PED_training.zip, is this first batch exactly the same as the PED2025 training dataset, with BraTS26_PED_training_batch2.zip containing the additional new 2026 subjects? Or are there any changes/updates in the first batch compared with the PED2025 release? Thank you!
