Hi, I'm just curious about why the paper deadline has been extended by a whole two weeks on such short notice? I'm sure that this week a lot of participants would have been focussing on writing their paper, running ablations , generating figures etc. (rather than iterating on their research) for the Friday deadline but now the 2-week extension on 4 day notice invalidates all of that work. Does this have to do with the new data integrity policy? It seems like the policy only has to do with the final container submission and not the actual paper submission this Friday; it would certainly be possible to retrain and generate the logs until the September container submission deadline without having the two week extension on the paper.

The deadline extension is not related to the recently released Data Integrity Policy. The main reason is simply to provide more teams with the opportunity to complete and submit their work, thereby increasing participation and the scientific value of the workshop. Please note that papers are reviewed individually on a rolling basis after submission, and each paper is evaluated solely based on its own quality. The acceptance of a workshop paper is completely independent of the final challenge ranking or awards. Therefore, if your manuscript is already ready, you are very welcome to submit it early. You can then continue improving your model before the final Docker submission. The challenge ranking will be determined solely by the final Docker evaluation, while the paper review focuses on the scientific contribution of the submitted manuscript.
