I'm looking at your updated instructions for using a custom storage location that is your own S3 bucket.
https://docs.synapse.org/articles/custom_storage_location.html
It now says: "Please note that your S3 Bucket must be in the us-east-1 (N. Virginia) region for this to work."
Does that mean the location must be us-east-1 in order for the documentation provided to work or for using your own S3 bucket as a custom storage location at all? I thought I'd ask on the off chance I jumped to the wrong conclusion.
If this is as I suspect it is, then I STILL cannot do this and no one at my institution will either. So put in a request to allow for alternate locations for us eh? :)
Created by Amy Paguirigan apaguirigan Thanks @apaguirigan - it does indeed require that the bucket resides in `us-east-1` for it to work at all :-(
I'm cc'ing @Meredith so that she can add a tally to the requests for this feature to any ongoing work we might have around custom storage locations!
