Dear Synapse Team, My question is about reviewer access for a manuscript using newly generated ROS/MAP-derived proteomics data. If we upload the dataset to Synapse/AD Knowledge Portal before manuscript submission, is there a way to provide editors and reviewers with temporary or anonymous access during peer review? Does our data remain private until published? We want to make sure we handle the data correctly before submission and do not violate individual privacy but also the data-use requirements of the journal.

You can submit a service desk ticket [here](https://sagebionetworks.jira.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/12).
This is helpful. I have a few more questions. How do I make a desk ticket?
I apologize, I cannot help much on this, as the best approach depends on the journal's requirements. However, we do have specific requirements for including an acknowledgment statement in publications for referring to data deposited on the AD Knowledge Portal (you can read more on this [here](https://help.adknowledgeportal.org/apd/data-use-acknowledgement). We also ask that you don't include any private Synapse folders in paper submissions. I hope this was helpful- we would be happy to help you further through a service desk ticket.
Thank you for this. Since the data will be private, would the recommended approach for the manuscript be to state that the data are being submitted to Synapse/AD Knowledge Portal and will be made available through the portal after completion of the intake/release process? Apologies this is my first time publishing in this space. Do you know whether this is generally acceptable for the journal if we explain this in the data availability statement/cover letter and state that the data are being submitted to Synapse/AD Knowledge Portal and will be released after completion of the intake process? Is this common practice?
Hello, Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, we can not do anonymous access during peer review anymore. The data remains private until it goes through our entire data intake process (more on this [here](https://help.adknowledgeportal.org/apd/complete-data-intake#CompleteDataIntake-Teamroles)). If you are ready to submit your data, you can do so by submitting a service desk ticket [here](https://sagebionetworks.jira.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/12).
