Jeremiah is a Data Scientist, specializing in Artificial Intelligence for medical imaging. His research centers on developing trustworthy AI systems, with a focus on uncertainty quantification, generative modelling, and segmentation. He holds a PhD from the University of Ibadan, completed in collaboration with the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences. His doctoral work involved pioneering deep learning techniques for the analysis of retinal diseases using color fundus photography. Jeremiah has contributed to the AI Audit project—an international initiative aimed at evaluating the safety and fairness of AI in healthcare. He is also a co-organizer of Sisonke Biotik, a pan-African community uniting data scientists and healthcare professionals, and plays an active role in organizing the Deep Learning Indaba, Africa’s leading machine learning conference.
