Dr Richard Lander Kwame Glover is a Biological Scientist with a bias in Food Microbiology. Dr Glover worked as a Research Officer at the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine at Mampong-Akwapim in Ghana from 1991 to 1996 where he set up the Microbiology Laboratory and initiated procedures for the microbiological screening and validation of herbal products from traditional medical practitioners. He then joined the Department of Applied Biology, Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Navrongo Campus as a lecturer/researcher in Microbiology. He rose to the level of Senior Lecturer, having trained and mentored several cohorts of undergraduates and postgraduates in various areas of Microbiology. Besides heading the Department of Applied Biology and successfully superintending over the accreditation of its programmes, Dr Glover also led several phases of a DANIDA-sponsored project on Capability Building for Research in Traditional Fermented Food Processing in West Africa. Dr Glover also worked as a Programme Specialist (Biological Sciences) with the International Science Council [ISC] Regional Office for Africa (formerly International Council for Science-[ICSU] Regional Office for Africa) from June 2012 to March 2021. His main responsibilities here involved driving the implementation processes of the Council’s Africa Science Plans on Health and Human Well-Being and Natural and Human-induced Hazards and Disasters. Dr Glover has participated in several international training programmes and conferences. He has over twenty peer-reviewed journal publications as well as several conference proceedings to his credit. He is currently the Scientific Director for the Agro-Health Research Consortium (A-HRC) in Pretoria, South Africa. Dr Glover has since 2017 been serving as the Regional Programme Officer (RPO) and member of the Steering Committee of the International Network for Governmental Science Advice, Africa Chapter (INGSA-Africa).
