Dr. Oliver He has interdisciplinary backgrounds in ontology, bioinformatics, microbiology, vaccinology, and kidney precision medicine. He has (co-)initiated and (co-)led the development of many community-based ontologies including the Coronavirus Infectious Disease Ontology (CIDO), Ontology of Precision Medicine and Investigation (OPMI), Kidney Tissue Atlas Ontology (KTAO), Vaccine Ontology (VO), and Ontology of Adverse Events (OAE). His team has also developed many ontology tools (e.g., Ontofox, Ontobee) and applied ontologies for different applications including data integration, literature mining, and meta-analysis. His ontology-based precision medicine modeling and analysis have greatly supported the NIH-funded Kidney Precision Medicine Project (KPMP). His COVID-19 research has also resulted in several peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals in the areas of ontology, vaccine design, and anti-coronavirus drug modeling and analysis. Dr. He also hosted and co-organized the Workshop on COVID-19 Ontologies (WCO-2020, https://github.com/CIDO-ontology/WCO/).
