Suraiya Jabin received her Master in Computer Application (MCA) in 2002 from Department of Computer Science, U.N.S.I.E.T., India. She received her Ph.D. (Computer Science) in 2009 from Department of Computer Science, JamiaHamdard, New Delhi, India and served there as Lecturer during Sep 2002 to Nov 2006. In Dec, 2006, she joined as Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, Central University, New Delhi, India. Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Soft Computing, Biometrics. She has more than 17 years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has contributed over 30 research articles in refereed international journals, conference proceedings and as book chapters, including 5 SCI expanded/Scopus indexed journal papers. She is member of several professional bodies including ACM-SIGCSE (during Nov 2011-Nov 2012), Life member of Asia Pacific Bioinformatics Interaction and Networking Society (APBIANS), and Life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) since 2005 apart from many conferences and journal review committees. She is project coordinator of department-level infrastructure project titled ‘Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility (BIF)’ under BTISnet scheme funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India since 2011 along with these other official responsibilities such Placement Coordinator and Course Advisor of MCA course.
