Dr. Christine Pratilas is the Principal Investigator of the Johns Hopkins NF1 biospecimen repository. She is a pediatric oncologist and research scientist at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. Pratilas’ clinical expertise is in the management of children, adolescents and young adults with sarcomas, with research interests in rhabdomyosarcoma and MPNST. In addition, she sees children with kidney cancers; melanoma; children with NF1-associated non-CNS neoplasms; and other rare pediatric cancers. She is an investigator on multiple clinical trials of molecularly targeted therapies in children.
The focus of the Pratilas lab is the development of targeted therapy approaches for tumors with dysregulated RAS signaling pathways, such as those with loss of NF1, mutations in RAS and mutations in BRAF. Her lab is conducting research on tumor types including MPNST, rhabdomyosarcoma, and high grade glioma.
