Greg Sutherland gregthesci

I am a research group leader and senior lecturer in neuropathology based in the Charles Perkins Centre at the University of Sydney. I graduated with a PhD in molecular medicine at the University of Auckland in 2004. Prior to this I spent 13 years in veterinary clinical practice and commercial research. My research interests include the neuropathology, transcriptomics and genetic epidemiology of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease (AD) and alcohol-related brain damage. My research group primarily uses human postmortem brain tissue, but we are also involved in collaborative teams that utilise neuroimaging, patient-derived stem cells and transgenic animal models to understand the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases.
