Dr. Lopez in an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Genomics Sciences. As a Computational Biologist, his research focuses on clinically relevant subjects addressed through integrative approaches, including genomics and systems biology; with extensive experience in large collaborative efforts working across analytical and experimental boundaries.
Dr. Lopez devoted his recent work to the study of large genomic cohorts of pediatric cancers. His research, focused on high-risk neuroblastoma, helped better understanding its pathogenesis and identifying novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of the disease.
At Mount Sinai, Dr. Lopez leads personalized medicine efforts by harnessing the power of multi-omics tools to identify therapeutic intervention opportunities and cancer vulnerabilities.
